Vis ta vie, comme tu veux

I had big plans for January. It was going to be the month when I finished all the old sweaters that had been lying around unfinished for (literally) years.

But, then I bought the Blue Sky Alpaca and Silk. And, I fell in love. I would keep it in on the couch next to me and pet it. I simply had to knit with it. I remembered that I knit for fun! If I want to knit with my new yarn, that's just what I should do.

I was inspired by my friend Laura's Shetland Triangle Shawl to knit the exact same pattern in the exact same yarn. Real original! At least I picked a different color.
Vital stats:
Pattern: Shetland Triangle from Wrap Style
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca and Silk Color I28
Needles: size 6

Here are some shots of me wearing it.

Look at my new handknit gloves.

But, they weren't handknit by me. I got them at Revive on Lee Road. They are a fair trade clothing store that opened recently. If you are in the Cleveland area, I highly recommend that you check them out. I also got a cute necklace there.

Baby, it's cold outside

Tuesday morning, I woke up and this is what it looked like outside my apartment.

When I lived in North Carolina, I didn't need to wear wool socks very much. It turns out that I have knit only two pairs of wool socks for myself. Now that winter has arrived in Cleveland, two pairs is not going to cut it. So, I started a new pair of socks on Wednesday. Can you guess what they are? Here's a hint: I'm the last person in the world to knit them.

Little red corvette

Baby, you're much 2 bright.

This color was created using 12 packets of Blastin' Berry Cherry Kool-Aid with one skein of Cascade 220. I was going for a deeper red. I guess I should have added some Black Cherry, but I'm pretty happy with it.
