Vis ta vie, comme tu veux

I had big plans for January. It was going to be the month when I finished all the old sweaters that had been lying around unfinished for (literally) years.

But, then I bought the Blue Sky Alpaca and Silk. And, I fell in love. I would keep it in on the couch next to me and pet it. I simply had to knit with it. I remembered that I knit for fun! If I want to knit with my new yarn, that's just what I should do.

I was inspired by my friend Laura's Shetland Triangle Shawl to knit the exact same pattern in the exact same yarn. Real original! At least I picked a different color.
Vital stats:
Pattern: Shetland Triangle from Wrap Style
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca and Silk Color I28
Needles: size 6

Here are some shots of me wearing it.

Look at my new handknit gloves.

But, they weren't handknit by me. I got them at Revive on Lee Road. They are a fair trade clothing store that opened recently. If you are in the Cleveland area, I highly recommend that you check them out. I also got a cute necklace there.

it's great to see what the blue sky became :) ... very pretty. i have 3 hanks sitting in stash, still wondering what they will someday become.
gloves? they look like mine, minus the contrast. i like the contrast edge though.
i was thinking too, if the fiddly bits could be knitted with two needles as a double knit fabric? hmmm ....

Ahh, it's beautiful! If I ever get around to making mine it's going to be a dusty blue alpaca. How are you going to wear it -- just like that or with a pin? (This is always my issue with wraps/shawls.)

And the blogging world needs all the geeks it can take. Glad you are here.

Don't you just LOVE Alpaca Silk?!?! I'm making a lacy hug-me-tight with it right now, and my knitting is punctuated with lots of ooo-ing and ahhh-ing. Your shawl is beautiful and I can only imagine how wonderful it must feel on. Great job!

I am a fellow Clevelander, and I just heard of the store Revive. Thanks for the recommendation - now I'll definitely have to go check it out!
